IT was standing room only on Tuesday when 125 people from Liss Forest turned out for a public meeting to find a way forward following news of the imminent closure of the village shop and sub-post office.

Dismayed by a planning application for a change of use for Liss Forest Stores and Post Office to two one-bedroom flats, residents responded to a village-wide survey as part of a Save Our Shop campaign, calling on support for the setting up of community shop run by villagers.
