ST Peter’s School in Wrecclesham once again held its annual emergency life support lessons for years five and six earlier this month.

The children in year five learnt what to do in an emergency and how to assess and unresponsive casualty, including the recovery position.

Year six pupils recapped on the previous year’s emergency life support lessons and also learnt about resuscitation and defibrillators.

The training was provided by volunteers from the local Heartstart group and the entire school took part in fundraising for the British Heart Foundation.

“It was a fantastic day,” said Jo Michaelides, first aid trainer and member of the Heartstart group.

“The children were so enthusiastic, confident and quickly became very competent.

“It is brilliant that the school do this every year and help empower a whole generation to make a difference. Well done St Peter’s!”

The event raised more than £300 for the British Heart Foundation.
