PUPILS from seven Alresford schools have launched their own Olympic torch event.

Inspired by the 2012 Olympic Games, secondary school pupils from Perins Community School in Alresford invited children from its six feeder schools to draw a design for an Olympic torch.

The top two entries from each school were then sent to Perins where a team of 24 young Olympic ambassadors looked over the designs and voted for their favourites.

The winning entry was by Ethan Streek from Four Marks Primary School.
