PRINCESS Beatrice paid a surprise visit to St Peter's School in Wrecclesham last Thursday to support Dyslexia Awareness Week as patron of the Helen Arkell Centre.
The royal visitor, herself a former pupil of the Frensham-based Arkell Centre, joined one of Britain's best loved poets, Valerie Bloom, at the school to meet pupils and promote 'The Talents of Dyslexia'.
Bernadette McLean, principal of the Arkell Centre, said: "It was a great day, everyone loved the poetry reading and Princess Beatrice really got stuck in during the workshops. She chatted away with the children and quite a few asked her if she was a real princess!"
