GRAYSWOOD Primary School pupils turned back the clock and dressed as evacuee children to understand the impact of the Second World War on families, last Friday, on Armistice Day.

After studying World WarII in class, year four pupils wore clothes of the time to visit Grayswood War Memorial, where they paid tribute to those from the village, who died during service for their country.

Back in their classrooms, the pupils continued their trip down memory lane with a lunch of fish paste and marmalade sandwiches, followed by traditional games.
