Licensing officers have a case on their hands as a wine seller is set to open a branch in Farnham.
The eyes of the food and drink world are on East Street as Laithwaites want to move into the unit next to Cook at 88A.
The firm has submitted an application to Waverley Borough Council for a premises licence as they look to complement Majestic just down the road.
Laithwaites Wine was founded in 1969 by Tony Laithwaite, originally under the name Bordeaux Direct. Inspired by a trip to Bordeaux, Tony began importing wines directly to the UK, starting with just five wines.
They are now one of the UK’s biggest wine sellers with an increasing number of stores complementing their mail order range.
