THE Mid Hants Railway Watercress Line stepped back in time over the weekend of June 8/9 as civilian and military re-enactors created a slice of life from June 1943.
'Winston Churchill' inspected the Queen's Royal Regiment and the 514th at Alresford station before taking a tour of the line.
Civilians got their hair done in the latest 1940s styles and danced the day away with 'That's Jive' demonstrating all the latest wartime steps.
Along the line re-enactors gave an insight into military life during the war and on the 70th anniversary of the Dambusters raid, 617 Squadron were particularly popular.
