YOUNGSTERS in Four Marks won’t be able to complain they have nothing to do now the recreation ground has a selection of new and exciting activities for an age range from adults and teenagers to toddlers.

The new play areas were opened last Saturday by Fi Edwards, consumer champion from Tesco in Bordon, who cut a ribbon across the entrance.

Tesco, along with Ground Work UK through its ‘Bags of Health’ scheme, donated £10,000 to the project.

Parish council chairman Janet Foster welcomed everyone and said a special thanks to both Tesco and Ground Work UK, as well as Alton Lions, and East Hampshire District Council who gave grants to make up the £80,000 for the new equipment with the majority of the money coming from developers’ contributions.

For the adults and older teenagers there is an impressive selection of multi-gym equipment for outdoor use which includes one to stretch muscles or on-the-spot running.

The teenagers have a whole new area with an assault course, skate ramp, basket ball hoop and a concrete table tennis table with a thin bar across instead of a net.

The zip wire has been moved to the children’s area where they already have their own play equipment.
