An Indian restaurant in Grayshott is aiming high after being shortlisted for this years national curry ‘Oscars’.
Bayleaf Restaurant, in Crossways Road, has been nominated by his customers for an award from the British Curry Awards which takes place in London at the end of the month.
The second time the restaurant has been short-listed Bishnu Kharel is hoping this may be his lucky year.
A family man with two children, a daughter 11, and son eight, Mr Kharel, 36, who came to England in 2001 has been nominated for best Indian restaurant in the south east of England.
His restaurant employs 12 staff and boasts a menu of fusion dishes and features Nepalese and Indian food.
Mr Kharel said: “I used to work as a head waiter in Grayshott and really love the place.
“This would be a dream trophy for me for and for the village and would put Grayshott on the map.
And he added: “We have been working really hard to tick all the boxes.”
