THE Farnham retail property market "remains strong" despite the loss of several high street chains, according to local lettings agency Wadham & Isherwood.
Geoff Reeve, director of the Farnham agency, said a flurry of new lettings over the past three months have made up for departures from Farnham's shopping scene.
Both La Senza in The Borough and Millets in West Street closed their stores at the beginning of 2012, and question marks still hang over Peacocks in the Woolmead following the company's recent administration.
But a surge of largely independent stores have moved into the town centre during the same period, "dramatically improving" Farnham's appeal to shoppers, said Mr Reeve.
