ALTONÕS annual Round Table Fireworks bonanza looks set to make Saturday, November 2, a real Ònight to rememberÓ.

To be staged, as usual, at Alton Sports and Social Club in Anstey Road, the event promises to provide the best pyrotechnic display in the area around a bonfire, fashioned in the fine tradition, to attract the most imaginative Guys.

Building on previous successes and to maximise safety, an internationally recognised fireworks display company has again been employed to design and set off this yearÕs fireworks, which will also be synchronised to music, according to Round Table spokesman John Milnes.

Alton Town Mayor John Smith will be on site at 6-30 pm to judge the Best Guy competition, with cash prizes on offer for the first three placings, and there will be a wide range of bonfire night refreshments, including hot dogs, burgers, doughnuts and candyfloss.

Run as a community service, ticket prices will remain at £4 for adults and £2 for children, payable on the gate. Half-price tickets will be available in advance from the Co-op News shop and Porters News Music and Video in Alton High Street, the Alton Tourist Information Centre in Cross and Pillory Lane, and Norman Read Butchers and the Handy Store in Medstead.
