ONE of the biggest sporting clubs in Petersfield is on the verge of going bust as it struggles to meet the cost of a major expansion.

Concern at disappearance of white-tailed eagle as tracker found near PetersfieldBosses at Petersfield Rugby Club held crisis talks with the game's governing body early this week to discuss their appalling financial situation.
They have also asked their major stakeholders for help as they struggle to repay the costs of their clubhouse expansion in 2007.
The club, based at Penns Field, looks like a thriving concern on the surface with several adult teams and more than 350 youngsters on its books.
But they are falling well short of raising the £10,000 a year they need to pay off a £100,000 loan from the Rugby Football Foundation.
