THE Boxing Day Fun Run held in aid of Holy Cross Hospital proved to be as popular as ever this year with 545 runners taking part, including Sarah Hill from Farnham Runners who gained first place in the Ladies’ Drinking Race category, in 25 minutes and eight seconds.
The 3.5-mile, off-road charity run started at The Devil’s Punchbowl Hotel and took runners over Hindhead Common, Gibbet Hill and the Devil’s Punchbowl. First runner to complete the course was Paul Lowe in 22 minutes and one second.
Farnham Runners were in high numbers as they raced against one another. One of which was Jane Georghiou who finished in seventh place, in the Ladies’ Non-Drinking Race.
Lucy Wagstaff from Aldershot and Farnham runners followed Sarah in pursuit finishing in eighth place.
In the Men’s Drinking Race category, Farnham Runner Curtis Anderson completed the course in forth place in 24 minutes and seven seconds, followed close behind by fellow Farnham Runner Ian Carley who finished in fifth place, in 25 minutes and 47 seconds.
