PROTESTERS plan to bring rush-hour traffic to a standstill in Farnham next week with a 'car demonstration' to alert people to the impact of proposed development in the town.

The North West Farnham Residents' Association (NWFRA) is calling on residents and other organisations to support the protest, scheduled to take place from 8.30am on Friday, October 17.

It hopes to muster more than 240 cars - the number it says will occupy a proposed 120-home development in Beavers Road - to travel a two-mile route from Three Stiles Road to Farnham railway station.

The protesters intend to cause the maximum possible disruption to the morning rush hour, "to show the traffic chaos this – and other proposed developments in Farnham - would cause".
