MEMBERS of Anstey Junior School Council collaborated to design a scarecrow around the theme of rocket science for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

The school’s Alien Scarecrow won through to the second stage of the competition, enabling the children to turn their ideas into reality.

Each member of the council took a part in the creation of its entry and could be justly proud of their achievement, the school’s teachers said.

As part of the competition, any schools selected to exhibit were invited to attend the show on press day.

An Anstey School spokesperson said: “The children are extremely proud of their scarecrow and seeing it exhibited and viewed by members of the public will be a long lasting and memorable experience for them.”
