ST Mary’s Infant School in Frensham held a grand opening ceremony earlier this month to celebrate the completion of its new kitchen and library.
The new additions to the school were formally opened by Mark Tilling of Farnham-based Squires Kitchen who led the winning team in BBC2’s Great British Bake Off spin-off Creme de la Creme.
Headteacher Jennifer Downing thanked everyone involved for their contributions to the project and said: “These new facilities make a big difference to the school.
“We are thrilled with the kitchen, and the more spacious, dedicated library will enhance the children’s learning. We are very grateful to everyone who helped us with our fundraising.”
The event was attended by representatives from The Diocese of Guildford, Whitescape Builders, project managers DHP, the school’s governing body and Friends of St Mary’s School.
Clare Hammond, the school cook, made special ‘builder biscuits’ for all the children to mark the occasion.
