EAST Hampshire District Council's cabinet last week agreed to the proposed budget, with huge cuts to services, after Government grants were massively reduced.

The grant given to the district council from the Government was cut by 36 per cent for 2010/11, but on top of that, an unexpected £1.1m was additionally removed to account for the transfer of planning responsibilities to the South Downs National Park.
