Farnham’s new mayor showed his keenness to serve the town by dishing up food for a generous cause.

More than 80 pensioners tucked into sandwiches, scones and cakes when the Farnham Lions held their annual Tea Party in the Memorial Hall.

Everything on offer was freshly made by Lions members and volunteers with the Fleet U3A Ukulele Group also providing great entertainment on the day.

The event was also an early engagement for Farnham’s new mayor, Cllr George Murray and his wife, mayoress Jacoba, as they helped with serving food, presenting raffle prizes and mingling with guests.

The event was a welcome one for many guests who live alone, with the Lions thanking everyone who helped and attended.
