FARNHAM'S shopping scene was shocked by the sudden closure of luxury interior design specialists Evitavonni in The Borough last week.

The closure took many by surprise – coming just over two years after it opened following an extensive refurbishment of the former Woolworths store.

Evitavonni – which is innovative spelled backwards –spent many thousands of pounds refitting the premises and stripping it of asbestos, as well as comprehensive external repairs to the building.

But despite reports of poor footfall and sales, Evitavonni insists the reason for the closure is merely to facilitate an expansion into London.

Evitavonni plans to open a new home accessories store in Chelsea Harbour, focussing on in-house designed collections and products from around the globe.
