LOVE Your Zoo Week is coming to Birdworld this half term to raise awareness of the fantastic zoos across the country.

Running from May 28 to June 1, it is a national initiative run by the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA). Throughout the week, keepers will be carrying out lots of additional talks, feeding sessions and activities for some of the birds and animals around the park.

Join them as they serve up a fishy lunch to the park’s White Storks and give a fascinating talk at the Hornbill and Toucan aviaries. Visitors can also watch the sheep shearer at work on May 30 at the Jenny Wren farm.

Mark Anderson, general manager at Birdworld, said: “The park’s keepers are very excited to celebrate the park’s Golden Anniversary with extra activities such as these to educate and entertain visitors of all ages about the fascinating and mysterious birds and animals that call Birdworld home.”
