PREPARATIONS are in full swing and excitement is building for Farnham’s Showshack students appearing in ‘Showtime 2015’ as they take over the Princes Hall Theatre in Aldershot next month.

The show which takes place from November 14 to 15, will raise funds for St Luke’s Cancer Centre at The Royal Surrey Hospital and marks the 20th anniversary of Showshack Dance and Theatre School.

Pupils of Showshack’s Theatre, Dance, Singing and Drama classes will be on stage presenting an assortment of musical theatre, singing and dancing, supported by a small army of volunteer parents and friends of Showshack who are already working hard behind the scenes to make sure that the show is amazing.

The last Showtime production was held in 2012 and raised £11,000 for St Luke’s Cancer Centre. As well as raising money for a worthy cause, the show also offers students the opportunity to experience the reality of performing in front of a large audience, with professional musicians and having their ‘moment’ on stage.

Children ranging in age three upwards will appear in this year’s show, which will involve scenes, songs and dance numbers from musicals such as Miss Saigon, Annie and Hairspray.

Rehearsals have been under way for several months within Showshack classes and as the excitement builds in the next few weeks the entire cast (from age two to 20) – more than 400 performers, will come together to perfect the final details.

Local businesses have been extremely generous in donating raffle prizes, tickets for the event are selling fast and the weekend looks set to be a truly memorable experience for all of those involved.

Tickets for the event can be purchased via the Showshack website. There are two shows on Saturday, November 14, and also on Sunday, November 15, a matinee at 3.30pm and evening show starting at 7.30pm. For more information go to wwww.showshack.co.uk, or call 01252 723956.
