MEMBERS of the Farnham & District Museum Society and invited guests met at the Garden Gallery of the Museum of Farnham last week for the launch of the latest in the Society’s series of occasional publications - the fifth book by local historian Pat Heather.

Entitled Woman in Farnham & Its Villages 1200-1900, the book looks at the lives of individual women in the ancient hundred of Farnham in Surrey over six centuries. Analysing their lives against the background of their role in the community and society this is a work of meticulous research which will be of interest not only to those who follow Farnham’s local history but will also be of importance to a wider audience concerned with the role of women in society throughout history.

Priced at £10 copies of the publication may be obtained from the shop at the Museum of Farnham, through the website www.farnham

museumsociety.org.uk or by telephoning Peter Minett on 01252 721576.
