THE Braveheart of the Year Award for 2015 set up by Shortheath Veterinary Surgery in Farnham went to a springer spaniel by the name of Pippa.
Every month patients that have demonstrated bravery during an injury or illness are nominated and a winner is voted for by practice staff, a vote is then taken for the overall winner of the year.
When Pippa was a puppy she developed a condition called an intussusception, which is where the intestines telescope in on each other creating a blockage.
Becky Grant from Shortheath Vets said: “Pippa had surgery to remove the affected part of her small intestines and was extremely brave and thankfully made a full recovery.
“She has matured into a lovely adult dog and her puppy photo can be seen on our Braveheart board in reception at our Shortheath branch.”
