WEY Hill visitors are in for a bonanza of bargains and prizes in a special promotion to keep the shoppers coming during the £150,000 area's improvement scheme.
More than 30 local traders launched the special "Spend and Win" scheme last week.
Each time an item is bought at the participating shops and businesses in Wey Hill, the shopper's name will be entered into a draw to win more than 30 prizes.
Gifts include a bird table, a duvet, radio, rucksack, garden parasol, wine, designer sunglasses, a rug, electric kettle and a many more
One name will be drawn at random on the last day of the promotion and the lucky person walk away with all the items.
The prizes are on display Delta Radio's Wey Hill and the draw will take place on April 1.
The more you shop in Wey Hill at shops displaying the "Spend and Win" poster, the more chances you have of winning. "People may well find that all next year's Christmas shopping is covered," said Simon Labrow from Haslemere Chamber of Trade.
"The great news is that many Wey Hill businesses are also offering discounts, promotions or events during March, which makes shopping in Wey Hill even more appealing."
The "Spend and Win" scheme is just the latest in a series of ideas to keep business in Wey Hill busy during the disruptive roadworks.
Expected to last eight weeks, the works are to resurface the roads, pavements and make Wey Hill a more attractive place to visit with the addition of more trees and lamp posts.
And promotions along the lines of the "Event-a-Day" scheme held in Haslemere High Street two years ago, will start on Saturday. On March 1, The Art Department will give a demonstration of Caran D'Ache water soluble crayons, and on Wednesday, March 12, Delta Radio is hosting an open morning with coffee and biscuits, between 9 am and noon.
Another coffee morning takes place at In Training between 9-30 am and noon on March 21, and the Haslemere Centre for Complementary Therapies will be offering demonstrations and free advice between 11 am and 3 pm.
On March 27, the Cooperative funeral service has its own open day between 10 am and 4 pm serving coffee and biscuits and answering peoples' questions.
A number of shops will be holding special promotions during March.
Brasserie Ma Cuisine has a ladies' lunch and Caffyns Ford will be giving away a free gift with every new and used car sold.
The Granary will be open from 7 am on weekdays; Ralph Coombes will offer a free hacksaw when £10 or more is spent on hand tools
