YEAR four pupils at St Nicholas’ School in Church Crookham celebrated the festival of Diwali as part of their topic on Hinduism in religious studies.
On the day, the children dressed in colourful traditional costumes and took part in Indian dancing, made paper lanterns, and prepared and ate traditional Indian sweets.
“The pupils had a wonderful day learning about the festival from first hand, practical experience,” said a school spokesman.
Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, which is celebrated every autumn in the northern hemisphere.
