FOUR pupils from St Peter’s School in Wrecclesham raised nearly £400 by holding a bring-and-buy sale after school last Friday in aid of Children in Need.

The sale was proposed by year five pupil Ruby Regan, who was inspired by something she saw on television.

“Blue Peter is one of my favourite programmes and that’s how I found out about Children in Need,” Ruby explained.

“I wanted to do something fun with my friends to make money for children who need help.”

She formed a team with Harry Hodgson, Harry Michaelides and Anoushka Hall and together they approached the head teacher for permission.

The four (pictured) then thought about how it would work, what they wanted to sell and even designed posters in their lunch hour.

The sale happened after school on the day of Children in Need, with parents and friends donating toys, cakes and sweets.

Ruby also took some cakes into her dad’s work.

Head teacher Sarah Dunning was very impressed with their efforts.

“The children showed great initiative and independence in approaching me and setting this up,” she said.

“They arranged it all themselves and even spoke about it in assembly. I am delighted they raised so much, well done.”

Overall the children raised £392.41 for Children in Need.
