EARLIER this month gymnasts from Stellar Gymnastics in Farnham took their National Development Pathway Grades at the Spectrum in Guildford.

As an official South East regional competition for most of the girls it was their biggest and most challenging test yet, but despite this each one enjoyed participating and having their name and photo appear on the screens as they were performing - just like the Great Britain gymnasts.

After many successes at previous practise competitions the girls did not disappoint and Stellar came away with 10 passes, 11 commendations and the highest accolade, a distinction.

Hannah Fox, head of Stellar Gymnastics, said: “We are delighted with all of our girls and everyone who took part should be very proud of the hard work and dedication they have shown since the start of the year.

“Grades require them to become real athletes and are challenging, especially to the younger ones, but they proved to us and themselves that they were up to it.

“The high calibre of gymnastics on show that weekend proves how well the British Gymnastics programme is working and Stellar is proud to be a part of such a vibrant sporting body.”

Special mentions go to Sophie Brewer who completed her grades journey by receiving a commendation at regional grade one and finishing fifth – she was delighted that some of the younger gymnasts had come along to watch her compete.

Imogen Gibson had a great competition receiving a distinction at regional grade four and finishing in forth place, missing out on the bronze medal by 1.15.
