A TOTAL of £12,500 for Project Horizon was presented by former town mayor David Round to Haslemere Museum education officer Kay Topping (second right), who leads the scheme providing special sessions for children on the autism spectrum.
Much of the sum was raised by Mr Round’s gruelling 56-mile barefoot walk along the Greensand Way, which took six days to complete.
Kay said “We are so grateful to David for all his fundraising efforts for the museum in 2018/19.
“As an independent museum we rely entirely on the support of donations and sponsorship and a generous amount of money such as this really has an impact on the work that we do.
“We are looking to continue and improve on the Project Horizon work done so far in order to give positive educational and cultural experiences to the families engaged in the project.”
