BOHUNT School’s class of 2016 bid a fond farewell as they donned their gowns and suits for the annual Leavers’ Ball at Old Thorns Country Hotel at Griggs Green.
Despite the rain, spirits and smiles were not dampened, with crowds turning up in their masses to witness the spectacular arrivals of students in a dazzling array of vehicles, including stretch limos, classic and vintage cars and a wheelbarrow, looking amazing in a beautiful selection of dresses, suits, and even a kilt.
New York Broadway was the theme of the evening and after dinner prizes were awarded including tents for two, iPod chargers, pillows with built-in speakers, inflatable bananas and a blow up air sofa.
Then it was time to hit the dance floor where some questionable moves were thrown by teachers, much to the amusement and embarrassment of the students.
The whole evening was organised by the Prom Committee, led by teacher Sara-Louise Baldwin.
She said “The evening was just an example of how dedicated and creative our students are.
“They have worked spectacularly hard over the last five years, culminating in the Leavers’ Ball – the highlight of the school calendar.”
Headteacher Neil Strowger told The Herald: “The quality of the evening is representative of the high quality of the year group and we wish them every success in the future.”
