BORDON was the substitute for the seaside when Home-Start WeyWater held its annual beach day at its Chase Children’s Centre in Bordon and, centre staff said, with the sunny weather it was a success.

Over the summer holidays, Home-Start Weywater, based at the Children’s Centre in Budds Lane, also offered to the families it supports weekly sessions at Alice Holt Forest (pictured), where staff met up with parents and carers for a picnic with the children and a walk around the woods with a trained-nurse leader who encouraged the children to learn about their environment.

Once the walk was finished, they returned to the forest’s education room so the children could do arts and crafts with the materials they had found.

The outings were supported by The Truemark Trust, which supports small local charities with a focus on helping children and elderly and disabled people.
