STAFF from three care homes in Farnham volunteered to go on an Army training-style assault course to raise funds for the Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society.

Employees of Hatch Mill, Ridgway Court and Wey Valley House, together with friends and family, spent a gruelling hour wading through waist-high water, crawling through mud, climbing netting and squeezing through tyres.

A spokesman for Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society, which runs the three homes, said they showed “a lot of courage” and teamwork, helping pull and push each other through and over the obstacles.

“At the end everyone rushed to the hot showers,” added the spokesman, “followed by hot drinks to warm up and a picnic.”
