HOPES are high that Tesco will be unveiling its timetable for the construction of the Bordon store in the next couple of weeks.
An in-house bakery, a coffee shop and a delicatessen are all features which will be offered when the store, which is set for the former Bordon Motors site in High Street, opens its doors.
As previously reported by The Herald, outline permission was granted last October after a lengthy wait and a planning inquiry because the application was against adopted planning policy.
And full planning permission was granted by district councillors in June this year.
But despite the site being fenced off, and ÒworkmenÓ coming and going, the supermarket chain has yet to unveil its timetable.
And this week a spokesperson for Tesco told The Herald: ÒIt still has not been approved in the companyÕs development plan.Ó
And she said that the ÒworkmenÓ that had been seen on the site had been clearing the slow worm before work starts on the store.
ÒWe have cleared all the slow worm from the site,Ó the spokesperson said. ÒWe have been given the all clear by English Nature that they are all off.Ó
She added: ÒWe should know within the next few weeks when work will be starting and when the store should be opening.Ó
