THE Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre in Bordon officially opened its new outdoor venue at the weekend.

Last Saturday, people gathered to celebrate the opening of The Phoenix’s newest event area - The Playground. This outdoor space can seat up to 200 people and lets the centre provide open-air theatre experiences.

To mark the opening, visitors enjoyed the venue’s maiden performance, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, put on by the world’s first cycling theatre company - The Handlebards - on Saturday.

This autumn The Phoenix is hosting a variety of top comedy, theatre and musical events, as well as a host of workshops and classes for all ages. Whether it is drama, Zumba, arts and crafts or a pint of award-winning ale at the upcoming beer festival on Saturday, the theatre and arts centre has all bases covered.
