THOUSANDS of beer lovers travelled from across the length and breadth of the British Isles to descend upon the Farnham Maltings at the weekend for the 36th annual Beerex.

Organised jointly by the town's Lions Club, CAMRA and the Farnham Maltings, the annual event is the UK's longest running beer festival to have taken place in a single location.

A total of 42 brewers, from St Austell in Cornwall to Orkney in the Scottish isles, were represented over the three-day festival, with almost 80 bitters, mild beers, stouts and porters tapped for a thirsty audience.

The Lions Club are hoping to match last year's £32,000 record sum raised for local charities at Beerex.
