THE true story of a Jewish child rescued from the clutches of Nazi oppression will take centre stage at the Farnham Maltings on Tuesday, March 22.
Inspired by the true story of a Kindertransport refugee, the organised rescue effort of thousands of Jewish children before the start of the Second World War, Pipeline Theatre’s production of Transports weaves together the lives of a rebellious and troublesome foster teenager and an outspoken widower who becomes her foster mother.
As the story deals with many historical truths, some of which might be unknown to people today, the production explores a little further into the background of Kindertransport and how the experiences of children more than 80 years ago are being replicated right now in Europe and the Middle East.
The production of Transports will begin at 7.30pm on Tuesday in the Maltings’ Great Hall. Tickets cost £12 (£10 concessions, £40 family) or £20 (£18 concessions) for pre-show dining and ticket.
