SCHOOL heads "played their cards right" by inviting former Strictly Come Dancing host Sir Bruce Forsyth to open a new block of classrooms at St Edmunds in Hindhead last week.

The veteran TV presenter and entertainer was in fine form as scores of pupils roared with approval as he unveiled a plaque to mark the official opening of the WH Auden Centre.

Brucie, who was most famous for his spell as the host of the BBC's Generation Game in the 1970s, in which he sang the theme tune "Life is the Name of the Game," took a keen interest in the schoolboys and girls' work and the new facilities they now enjoy.
