VANDALS struck again at Gostrey Meadow this week, painting lewd graffiti and despoiling a bench just feet from the town war memorial and only days before Remembrance Sunday.
More than 1,000 people are expected to gather at the Gostrey Meadow war memorial from 10.45am this Sunday for the town’s Act of Remembrance.
And tomorrow, schoolchildren will gather for the now-traditional Farnham Schools Confederation Remembrance service, also at 10.45am.
It follows a summer spate of vandalism and anti-social behaviour in the meadow.
As well as in the meadow, remembrance services will take place at war memorials across the area this Sunday – and for the first time, from 7.30pm on Saturday evening (November 9), St John’s Church will host the Farnham Festival of Remembrance. Everyone is welcome.
