CONTENTIOUS plans to reduce Downing Street to a single lane of traffic have been backed by a group of town residents and traders - although approval is far from total.
According to one member, a "sizeable" proportion of the group, including many Downing Street residents, shopkeepers and businesses opposes the scheme whether implemented in isolation or as part of the package.
