VALUABLE handmade stock bricks have been stolen twice from an Upper Hale resident, who had stacked them up in her garden following building works.
Margaret Nightingale, who lives in Wings Road, issued a warning to homeowners to be extra vigilant if they have to store any stock bricks during building works in case they are targeted by thieves.
“I had a chimney taken down and numbered the stock bricks in the pile,” she said. “On Sunday, I found someone had come into my garden and stolen 30. This is the second time it has happened, the stack has been there for more than two years and I had stock bricks stolen before.
“I have reported it to the police both times. I know the bricks are now quite valuable.”
