THE Weydon School choir joined the renowned Rushmoor Male Voice Choir on stage at the Farnham Maltings for a special Christmas concert in aid of the Friends of Farnham Hospital.

Proceeds of the ‘Singing For You’ concert will go towards purchasing iPads, which will be used to help stimulate brain activity and conversation in patients suffering with dementia, as well as Farnham Hospital’s new integrated care hub.

Rushmoor Male Voice Choir performs regularly at events across Surrey and Hampshire raising on average £10,000 each year for local causes. The 50-strong choir is fresh from performing at the 25th London Welsh Festival of Male Voice Choirs at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Diana Martin, chairman of the Friends of Farnham Hospital, said: “Thank you Rushmoor Male Voice choir for making the concert last evening at the Maltings so very special for the Friends of Farnham Hospital.

“From the ladies dressed with their red sashes greeting everyone at the door with programmes, the beautiful flowers at the front of the stage, to your lovely performance and that of your guests Weydon School choir - as well as the saucy jokes - the evening was relaxed and entertaining.

“Funds raised during the evening will be purchasing specialist equipment for those patients who come into hospital with dementia and for the integrated care hub.

“The Friends could not have asked for more. Our sincere thanks go to everyone, front of house, behind the scenes and all those who planned the event. A memorable occasion in the history of the Friends.”
