WEYDON School in Farnham has achieved its best ever set of GCSE results with 88 per cent of students scoring five A* to C grades, including English and maths, and 43 per cent of grades at A* to A. Exam boards have shown nationally the number of entries graded A* to C has risen by 0.7 per cent, to 69 per cent overall, whilst English grades have dropped by 1.9 per cent with 62 per cent overall receiving a C or above. At Weydon, 27 per cent of students achieved eight A* to A grades, with 11 students receiving eight A*s. Headteacher John Winter said: "At a time of great change in education, in particular to GCSEs, to have gained our best ever set of results is a tribute to the students and staff."
