NEXT week sees Farnham Amateur Operatic Society (FAOS) stage their production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down The Wind in partnership with Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care.
Audiences at the Farnham Maltings will be treated to an enjoyable night out and on Thursday evening, £4 will be donated from every ticket sold to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Based on the novel by Mary Hayley Bell and much loved sixties film starring Hayley Mills, Whistle Down The Wind is an extraordinary and uplifting tale about the transforming power of love. Set in America’s deep South, 15-year-old Swallow discovers a mysterious man hiding in a bar.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s emotive score features haunting love songs including No Matter What – a smash hit for Boyzone - and audience members will also be treated to explosive rock music with lyrics by acclaimed rock’n’roll songwriter Jim Steinman.
For £8 visitors can enjoy a relaxed dinner at the Maltings before enjoying the show. Ask the box office for details. The show runs from Tuesday, January 26, until Saturday, January 30. For more information go to www.farnhamamltings.com, or the team on call 01252 745444.
