WHITEHILL Town Council has recouped almost all the money stolen from it following a claim against the pension of its former clerk.

This week the council announced that following the conviction of former clerk Trish Bell it will recover an additional £75,000 from her pension.

Councillors also heard from current clerk Chris Youngs this week that Mrs Bell had confirmed in writing to the Crown Prosecution Service that a surplus of £13,037.15 from the sale of her home, over and above the estimated value in the original confiscation order, can also be added to the repayments.
