A WOMAN is suffering from serious internal injuries after being involved in a three-car collision by the entrance to North End Farm at North Bridge, Chiddingfold, on Tuesday afternoon.

Two of the vehicles were heading towards Chiddingfold and the other towards Wormley on the A283 when the accident occurred at around 4-10 pm. A white Citroën BX16, a grey Ford Transit van and an Audi 100 collided.

The driver of the Citroën, a 22-year-old woman from Southsea, was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford suffering from internal injuries.

A three-year-old child in the same car was unhurt but was suffering from shock.

A passenger in the Transit van was also taken to hospital, suffering from shock and bruising. No one in the Audi was injured.

The road, which was completely blocked, had to be closed for four-and-a-half hours while the accident scene was investigated. A police helicopter was called in to assist.

The road was closed on a stretch between the Winterton Arms and the A283 Hambledon turning and diversions set up by the police led cars on neighbouring country roads.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact the collision investigation unit on 01932 569922.
