SURREY Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman and the dog she was walking died in a collision on the A325 in Wrecclesham yesterday (Tuesday) around 11.30am.

Officers were called to Wrecclesham Road, following the collision between the female pedestrian and her dog, and a white Peugeot Boxer van. The South East Coast Ambulance Service and air ambulance also attended, but sadly the woman, who was in her 30s, was declared dead at the scene. Her family have been informed.

The Wrecclesham Road remained closed between the junctions with Quennells Hill and Echo Barn Lane until around 7.30pm, while the emergency services carried out their work.

Anybody who witnessed the collision, or may have dashcam footage from the immediate area from between 11.15am and 11.30am is asked to contact the Surrey Police Collision investigation unit on 01483 639922 quoting reference P17237973.
