FARNHAM and District Model Railway Club brought along a special treat for residents and friends of The Woodlarks Centre care home and activity centre in Lodge Hill Road, Farnham on September 12.

The club’s expert modellers built an elaborate train set specially for the occasion and demonstrated it in action throughout the afternoon - much to the delight of everyone in attendance , who were able to use the controls and interact with the set.

Residents and staff members’ children were mesmerised by the tiny mock-up world complete with trains, railway signals, bridges, stations, and houses around a quaint village church.

The very model shown at The Woodlarks Centre will now be exhibited and raffled off at the Farnham and District Model Railway Club’s 44th exhibition, to be held at Alderwood Leisure Centre in Tongham Road, Aldershot, on October 13 and 14 from 10am to 5pm. Parking is available and refreshments will be provided.

The club’s last exhibition raised more than £750 for The Parkside Charity, and all proceeds of this year’s show will be donated to The Woodlarks Centre.

The exhibition will boast more than 20 layouts and 25 traders and societies. See farnhammrc.org.uk .
