BURYFIELDS Infant School’s nativity left spectators teary-eyed as the young pupils put on a show to remember.

Three early years classes took part in the production named ‘Christmas Counts’. The story started with Caesar sending his census takers off to Bethlehem, with Mary and Joseph beginning their long journey soon afterwards.

The soon-to-be parents were joined on their journey by shepherds and sheep, angels and of course the three wise men with their camels.

With the children learning their lines brilliantly, the youngsters entertained the audience with fabulous singing and overall, were part of an unforgettable production.

Two local pre-schools attended the dress rehearsal, with the children’s enthusiasm about starting with the school next year going through the roof.

The school added: “We had lots of compliments from parents and there was not a dry eye in the house.

“We were very proud of all the children for learning their lines and singing so beautifully. Thank you to all the staff here at Buryfields for all their hard work, making each performance so special. Thank to you all as well for providing fantastic costumes.”

The performance was also a chance for the school to raise money for their designated charity, with over £500 raised for Naomi House, the children’s and young person’s hospice.
