Sir, – I was amused to read the review of the book by Dutchman Pieter Boogaard, "ode to the A272."

I am sure he would have found much of interest if he had taken the other branch from Petersfield and came along the A325 Wrecclesham Road to Farnham.

He could have travelled in the rush hour nose-to-tail with cars and huge lorries, while admiring the houses through the pollution, or he could have travelled outside the rush hour and been nose-to-tail with cars and huge lorries and more pollution.

He might take a look at the railway bridge and most lorries don't, so end up stuck under it or on their sides.

Only recently we had wooden pallets strewn from the bridge to the Golf shop, where the driver realised he had left something behind.

Currently they are repairing the bridge which means you can cross the road without taking your life in your hands, as the traffic is finally at a standstill.

He might also like to join our campaign to stop more lorries coming through the village. I am sure if he came through here he would have enough material to write two books.
