PETERSFIELD Police are taking new measures to combat continuing vandalism at the townÕs football club after yet another attack at the Love Lane ground.
Extra patrols are to be run by police officers who will be looking for any opportunity to intercept vandals.
And Sgt Stuart Tripp, who discovered the latest vandalism at Petersfield Football Club after midnight on Saturday, warned that hooligans who were caught would be
arrested and prosecuted.
He appealed to parents of teenagers using the Love Lane area to be aware of what their children were doing while they were out in the evenings.
On Saturday night trespassers broke through the fence near the Love Lane Skate Park to get into the football ground and tore out four seats from the grandstand.
ÒThe seats were thrown into the skate park,Ó said Sgt Tripp, Òand one was then burned.Ó
