PUPILS at St Peter's School learned lifesaving skills the fun way during the Wrecclesham school's second annual Heartstart Day.
The hall reverberated to the sounds of Stayin' Alive by The Bee Gees as pupils from years five and six enthusiastically pumped manikins under the watchful guidance of Heartstart trainers Peter, Craig and Heather from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
The British Heart Foundation recently launched its 'hard and fast' campaign to encourage hands-only CPR, by administering chest compressions to the rhythm of the 1970s' disco classic – around two compressions per second.
And St Peter's became the first state school in Surrey to embark on the British Heart Foundation's Heartstart programme in June last year.
